The hallmarks from his Schumann cycle are all there - beautiful sound, fast, propulsive Allegros and great clarity overall, and this serves Beethoven well. Of course, the last three Sonatas require more than just good technique, and Le Sage meets their challenges head-on. He's at his best in the last two Sonatas. Op. 109 is good, but not quite as exceptional.
