Maurice Jaubert (1900–1940) was a French composer. Born in Nice on January 3, 1900, he was the second son of François Jaubert, a lawyer who would become the president of the Nice bar, and of the former Haydée Faraut. He received his high school education at the Lycée Masséna, where he graduated in 1916. During this period, he also enrolled at the Nice Conservatory of music where he studied harmony, counterpoint and piano. He was awarded the first piano prize in 1916.

Les musiques de Maurice Jaubert pour les films de Jean Vigo (trames sonores originales de 1933 et 1934), 2017. Voyage en train (Zéro de conduite), 03:11.

This is an exceptional soundtrack album, presenting four notable film scores - two by Maurice Jaubert and two Joseph Kosma - associated with the movies of Marcel Carne. For those unfamiliar, Carne, in collaboration with poet/playwright Jacques Prevert, made a string of some the most influential and acclaimed movies to come out of France in the years between 1934 and 1950. Jaubert's music for Le Quai des Brumes ranges from the subdued to the exultant, in a spellbinding array of material that easily stands on its own as a concert work.
