Premonition is the second album by American rock band Survivor, released in August 1981 in the United States and February 1982 elsewhere. It was the first album to use the Survivor script logo. The album, along with many other Survivor albums, was briefly taken out of print in 2009, but was remastered and reissued the following year and distributed by Rock Candy Records

Recorded in Los Angeles, the band was allowed to self produce, thus further enhancing the likelihood that a rougher, more immediate sound could be captured. Premonition didn't disappoint, showcasing the band in an upbeat and, dare we say it, far more aggressive mood, harnessing a sound that leaps out of the speakers and wrestles you to the floor with little room for pleasantries.

Before the worldwide madness of EYE OF THE TIGER, Survivor were slowly making their way in the music scene and Premonition is their second album. Journey inspired LIGHT OF A THOUSAND SMILES. At least seven of the songs on offer here would suit me to be on a greatest hits collection, but if you really want to feel the power of this album eek out the three tracks that i mentioned above.

Premonition is the second album by American melodic rock/AOR band Survivor originally released in 1980, reissued in 2010 by Rock Candy Records. Premonition, was an additional step towards the identifiable Survivor sound, bringing to front more of their melodic essence while retaining a good deal of the hard rock style of their debut. Premonition was also the first album to feature the established rythm section of bassist Stephan Ellis and drummer Marc Droubay along side founders guitarist Frankie Sullivan, keyboardist Jim Peterik and singer David Bickler.
