Beggars Banquet is the seventh British and ninth American studio album by English rock band The Rolling Stones. It was released in December 1968 by Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records in the United States. The album marked a change in direction for the band following the psychedelic pop of their previous two albums, Between the Buttons and Their Satanic Majesties Request.
Beggars Banquet was to be Brian Jones’ last full album with the Rolling Stones; he had become so dysfunctional by the summer of 1969 that the band had to ask him to leave. In the meantime, his contributions to Beggars Banquet showed his astounding versatility: in addition to slide guitar on No Expectations, he played harmonica on Dear Doctor, Prodigal Son and Parachute Woman (along with Mick Jagger).
Their seventh album, Beggars Banquet, released on this day (Dec. 7) in 1968, marked the beginning of the end for their founding guitarist, Brian Jones. The Rolling Stones went back to basics as their creator faded away. Their seventh album, Beggars Banquet, released on this day (Dec. 6) in 1968, marked the beginning of the end for their founding guitarist, Brian Jones.

Beggars Banquet has a special place in the history of the band, as it is the final album completed with the original lineup of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts.
Beggars Banquet is being reissued as a special vinyl package which incorporates both versions of the cover. In stark contrast to the forthcoming White Album reissue, no unheard bonus audio forms part of this 50th anniversary package, but the new vinyl does come with a bonus 12-inch vinyl record with a mono version of Sympathy For The Devil cut at 45RPM.
