The Gilles Peterson Havana Cultura Band has now travelled through Europe and beyond with shows in London (Barbican), Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Berlin and Madrid, as well as many festivals. Travelling with the rest of the 2011 crew, Mala (Digital Mystikz) was also invited to Cuba with Peterson to record and collaborate with local musicians as part of the ongoing Havana Cultura project. Havana Cultura is an initiative of Cuban rum maker Havana Club International . This is a special showcase of the collaboration between Gilles Peterson, Brownswood and HAVANA CULTURA, featuring Dj Jigüe (live production + DJ) El Menor (percussion) Yasek Manzano (trumpet), Luz De Cuba (vocalist) and Niño Fony (vocalist). Havana Cultura: ¡Súbelo, Cuba! shines a light on Cuba’s fast-mutating, rhythmically- adventurous underground.
