Downscope - Ion Box. Started by aortomus over 2 years ago, 5 replies. I've been moving away from physical media but this one bucked that trend and I picked up the CD box as soon as this hit my feed.

Using the Red Panda Particle and Strymon Blue Sky pedals I demonstrate how with just two arpeggiated notes via the Arturia Minibrute you can come up with some pretty cool sounds with the slightest tweaks making a nice minimal techno sound similar to old school artists like Basic Channel. html To hear my works created with variants of this setup: downscope.
The second Downscope box set has just dropped. This one showcases the Particle series, including an entire new collection of SUBATOMIC renditions. Like dust seen floating about through beams of sunlight there are particles we can witness with the naked eye, scurrying about like people in a crowded city street or bees buzzing about a hive. Case in point, an album called Phases That Mattered: A Substance Reconceptualization has been brought to my attention and I decided to sample it this evening and got drawn in by my own work. I think this is a really strong piece and may have been overlooked so here's a spotlight on a very distant, brooding and dark atmospheric movement.
