Akina Nakamori (中森明菜 Nakamori Akina, born July 13, 1965) is a Japanese singer and actress. She is one of the most popular and top selling artists in Japan. Akina achieved national recognition when she won the 1981 season of the talent show Star Tanjō!. Her debut single "Slow Motion" was released to moderate success, peaking at number thirty on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

Best is the second greatest hits album by Japanese singer Akina Nakamori. Warner Pioneer released it on April 1, 1986. It contains all of her singles from 1982 to 1985. It was number one on the Japan album chart for three consecutive weeks. It won the Grand Prix Album of the Year and the Best Album of the Year – Pop (Solo) at the 1st Japan Gold Disc Awards.

Her fourth studio album New Akina Étranger (1983) yielded three number-three hits: "1/2 no Shinwa", "Twilight (Yūgure Dayori)", and "Kinku", which won a Japan Record Awards for Golden Idol at the 1983 ceremony.
