Frijid Pink is an American rock band, formed in Detroit in 1967, best known for their 1970 rendition of "House of the Rising Sun". The initial line-up of the band included drummer Richard Stevers, guitarist Gary Ray Thompson, bassist Tom Harris, lead singer Tom Beaudry (aka Kelly Green), and later added Larry Zelanka as off-staff keyboardist

This made FRIJID PINK release their first, self-titled, album in 1970, including their massive hit. The line-up included Kelly Green on vocals, Gary Ray Thompson on guitars, Tom Harris on bass, Richard Stevers on drums, and additional keyboardist Larry Zelanka. However, this album, as well as their following, "Defrosted", also released in 1970, showed no traces of Prog, but was simply straight-forward Blues Rock, with some Psych influences. However, in 2007 FRIJID PINK reformed, and have since been engaged in a series of live performances in the US. They have also been recording a new album, which should be released later in 2009. While FRIJID PINK are not a 100% prog band, their third album, "Earth Omen", definitely shows a Heavy Rock band with a Progressive sound, very much in the vein of the already mentioned Uriah Heep, as well as Atomic Rooster.

With their CD ‘Made in Detroit’ released in June of 2014, nominated for a Detroit Music Award in 2015, TV, radio and headlining festival appearances under their belts, and with the release of their newest album, ‘On the Edge’ (to be released early 2018) Frijid Pink is back and here to stay.

Frijid Pink enjoyed a chart-topping smash hit with their exciting interpretation of ‘House Of The Rising Sun’ in 1970. A traditional ballad first made famous by The Animals in the 60s, the song is among the nine tracks featured on the band’s 1970 debut gold album. The single soared to N. in the US Billboard chart, got to N. in the UK and was a N. hit in Germany. Frijid Pink came from Detroit and the same school of slashing hard rock as the MC5 and the Stooges.
