Luis Alberto del Paraná (1926–1974) was a Paraguayan singer and guitarist. During the fifties, sixties and early seventies, he traveled extensively around the globe with his group Los Paraguayos, popularizing Paraguayan music. He is the best-selling Paraguayan musician ever. He was born on 21 June 1926 at 14:30 in Altos, Paraguay. His birth was reported in the magistrates court on 14 August 1926 by his mother, Jacinta Mesa (not Meza). His name was Luis Osmer Meza.

A talented guitarist by the age of 16, he joined various bands, travelled to Europe and eventually found himself a member of Luis Alberto del Parana y Los Paraguayos before quitting in around 1967 to settle in Greece and start a family. Los Paraguayos were one of the best latin music groups of all time. Since 1950 when they were first formed by the legendary singer and musician Luis Alberto del Parana, they have changed many times their composition. The group performs many South American and Mexican tunes and songs, including classics, such as Guantanamera, El Condor Pasa and La Bamba. Having had many changes in their line-up, the group has retained its popularity, selling many albums and appearing at many concerts throughout the world
