Toxik is an American thrash metal band originally from Peekskill, New York. Initially active from 1985 to 1992, in 2013 it was announced that Toxik would reform again and start work on its third album In Humanity. Toxik has gone through several lineup changes over the years, leaving guitarist Josh Christian as the only constant member. Toxik was formed in 1985 by Joshua Christian and Lee Erwin under the name "Tokyo".

The debut turned out to be a ripper as a result of which Toxik have received substantial critical acclaim in the years to come and are still regarded by thousands as the only band that defied all parameters of the very word technical. Josh’s guitar work is far from "the endless flurry of bumblebee notes scattered all over their breathless 1988 debut, World Circus- SHERR UTTER NONSENSE RIVADIVA
Sure enough, album opener "Heart Attack" propels thrash metal of such a frenzied nature at singer Mike Sanders that he truly seems to be experiencing a massive coronary while trying to enunciate all of those lyrics in his improbably high vocal range. Luckily, his life is spared so that he can carry on shrieking his way through another nine heart-palpitating tracks, although some listeners may find themselves wishing that weren't the case.
