Duo, subtitled Masami Akita & Kiyoshi Mizutani Selected Studio Sessions 1987–89, is a box set album by the Japanese noise project Merzbow. It is composed of unreleased studio sessions recorded with Kiyoshi Mizutani. Some of these recordings were used as raw material for solo releases like Scissors for Cutting Merzbow, but the original recordings were unreleased until now. These recordings mirror albums like Ecobondage, Enclosure, and Storage.

Merzbow (メルツバウ) is an extreme experimental music project created in Tokyo in 1979 under the direction of musician Masami Akita (秋田昌美) and is recognized as being one of the earliest projects in what has become known as "Japanese noise". Highly prolific, Merzbow has released hundreds of recordings since 1979. Merzbow stands as the most important artist in noise music. The moniker of Japanese Masami Akita was born in Tokyo in 1979. Inspired by Dadaism and Surrealism, Akita took the name for his project from German artist Kurt Schwitters' pre-war architectural assemblage "The Cathedral of Erotic Misery" or Merzbau. Consequently, in 1980 Masami founded the first noise label, Lowest Music and Arts. In this early period released Lowest Music. In 1990 Australian legendary label Extreme reissue a new version of cassette remixed by Masami Akita itself and then included in amazing 50 CDs Merzbox like Nil Vagina Tape Loop.
