Black Sea is the fourth studio album by the English band XTC, released 12 September 1980 on Virgin Records. Rock (Is Going to Help Me)". The album itself remains XTC's second-highest charting British album, placing at number 16, and the most successful US album of their career, peaking at number 41 on the Billboard 200.

XTC released 12 original albums and over 30 singles for Virgin Records, between 1977 and 1992. They signed to Cooking Vinyl for their final two albums in 1999 and 2000. The "Fuzzy Warbles" series is a collection of demos and sketches from Andy Partridge's tape archive. They do not include any of Colin Moulding's songs and are produced and compiled by Partridge.

Since Skylarking, each XTC album was carefully composed and crafted, and Nonsuch is no different. Working with producer Gus Dudgeon (Elton John), XTC crafted their most immaculate album to date with Nonsuch. A measured and reflective record, recalling the Beach Boys more than the Beatles, the album retains some of their late-'80s psychedelic flourishes, but those have been integrated into an elaborate, lush pop setting that falls somewhere between Skylarking and Oranges & Lemons.

Pepper, so it wasn't entirely a surprise that XTC embraced psychedelia on its double-album follow-up, Oranges & Lemons, especially if their celebrated Dukes of Stratosphear side project was taken into consideration as well. Oranges & Lemons lacks the singular focus of Skylarking, but at its best, it's just as impressive as its predecessor.
