James Bond is the title of various compilation albums of music used in the James Bond films made by Eon Productions up to that time. The single disc compilation was later updated four times in 1999, 2002, 2008, and 2012

For the James Bond enthusiast spirit in many of us I suppose it is still better than nothing at all for the 50th Anniversary. The Laser Beam" from GOLDFINGER, "Switching The Body" from THUNDERBALL, "Snow Job" from A VIEW TO A KILL and "Vesper" from CASINO ROYALE are excellent cuts. However, this collection remains a curiosity piece and perfunctory at best. The album is only missing the theme songs from the two newest Bond films: Skyfall and Spectre, which can be easily purchased individually. I would highly recommend this album for any die hard Bond fans out there.

The compilation The Best of James Bond was initially released for the 30th anniversary of the film franchise in 1992, and featured many of the songs that later pressings contained. As this compilation was a few years before GoldenEye was released, it did not contain the track. The initial release was a two disc set. The compilation was re-released in 1993 as a one disc set, once again being released as a 30th anniversary collection. In 1999 the compilation was updated and re-released to strong sales

It was reissued again in 2012 with Madonna's contribution to 2002's Die Another Day, ve frontman Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from 2006's Casino Royale, and Jack White and Alicia Keys' "Another Way to Die" from 2008's Quantum of Solace.

Some of them sound well-mastered, others, . Goldfinger", are buzzy and muddy. It seems to me music of this importance deserves the best technological treatment and could be considerably cleaned up and dynamically expanded. I will check again on my desktop, but the lack of song info is very annoying. All the same, since this seems to be the only choice for the authentic soundtrack music, it's better than nothing! Note : I meant to say Nobody does it better is the best BOND song except the original, not the best movie song ever. and I don't think the james bond theme itself is the best movie song ever, either. This is a man who, yes, gave us James Bond, but also gave us titles like 'Octopussy', 'Pussy Galore', 'Honey Rider', 'Mary Goodnight', 'Holly Goodhead'.
