The Best of the Big Bands features the music of: Glenn Miller Orchestra; Duke Ellington; Benny Goodman Orchestra; Count Baise and Woodie Herman. Thats the fault not of the original recording but of the engineer of this album who did not think that the listener would be annoyed at having to do hands on adjustments throughout the album. I agree these are not all original recordings. Most of these selections are played by mediocre-at-best musicians and was positively annoying to listen to. The only thing stopping me from tossing this disc of junk recordings out of the window was that I don't like to litter. Please spend your money on something else.

Audio CD, September 24, 1996. Of course, track 18 doesn't fit the "big band" category, but it's still a nice, compact collection of some obviously huge hits. Just look around for a better price. 3 people found this helpful.

Because metal has become so varied in its rich history since Black Sabbath first thrilled listeners, it’s hard to please all of the headbangers all of the time.

X-Ray Spex – Germfree Adolescents (1978) As with some of the best post-punk bands of the era, this punk quintet didn’t survive past the bright blast of their debut album (LP didn’t arrive until 17 years later). Burning out never sounded quite as great as this, though. At this point in the group’s trajectory, band leader Scott Miller had relocated to San Francisco, forced to assemble an entirely new lineup to fulfill promotional duties for the previous record and to continue the momentum he had gained to this point.

This is a list of punk rock compilation albums. Compilation albums played a particularly vital role in the development of new punk rock bands, since relatively few local bands had a large enough audience to justify their own albums. 5 Album Studio Set. 1977 Revisited. Big Band refers to a jazz group of ten or more musicians, usually featuring at least three trumpets, two or more trombones, four or more saxophones, and a "rhythm section" of accompanists playing some combination of piano, guitar, bass, and drums.

Most exciting rock’n’roll is made by people in their 20s for people in their teens. It’s like a note slid under our bedroom doors by our big brothers and sisters, that says everything will be alright: we will get laid, we will fall in love, we will get high, our parents won’t rule our lives forever. The Clash gave us all that – and then so much more. These days always close to the top of any list of the best albums of all time, OK Computer is the album that took Radiohead far into the mainstream, while retaining rockist cred. Combining prog with alternative influences, they came up with a style that was supple, subtle and sensuous. This wasn’t Pink Floyd for the end of the millennium, it was original, visionary and brilliant. Songs like Paranoid Android and Karma Police cast a spell that propelled Radiohead into the stadium league.
