Jesse James McClear first conceived Heavy Water Factory in 1992. What began as an experimental studio project, flourished into a live band. that has produced and released it's own music, toured on it's own initiative, and established a firm foothold in he underground electro scene. In 1995 HWF's first album "Fluid and Meat," was released on the band's own label "Graymalkin Productions. Immediately prior to released of F&M, HWF enlisted Scott Hixon as a second vocalist. Concert Archives users have seen Heavy Water Factory 2 times.

A pressurized heavy-water reactor (PHWR) is a nuclear reactor, commonly using natural uranium as its fuel, that uses heavy water (deuterium oxide D2O) as its coolant and neutron moderator. The heavy water coolant is kept under pressure, allowing it to be heated to higher temperatures without boiling, much as in a pressurized water reactor.

With a little help from Battery's Maria Azevedo and Shawn Brice and World of Hurt's Scott Hixson, he lays down eighteen tracks of non-aggressive, moody, sample-laden music that, while of a high quality, fails to leave a lasting impression on my mind. Surely, there are good songs on this album, but none of them stand out from the rest of the pack
