I remember seeing Joey Heatherton on Bob Hope and Dean Martin shows. Even at 15, I thought she was a bimbo who could tell jokes and sing a bit. During her career, nobody really got to hear her voice - mostly the headliners and producers had her prancing around in low-cut dresses and bikinis. The first number of the album is Willie Nelson's "Crazy," which he wrote for Patsy Cline. Patsy did it as a lament; it stands as a lasting monument to her talent. Joey did it with a lot of brass and volume, and it should be held in the same regard. I mean, this girl had some volume in addition to range. I was impressed with most of the recordings from the original release.
