Born in Boston, Fred Gianelli began experimenting with electronics in the late '70s as Turning Tranz, but a 1984 meeting with Psychic TV's Genesis P. Orridge at his local radio station changed his direction. By 1988, Gianelli was part of the group, working on Techno Acid Beat and Kondole. He gradually separated himself from Psychic TV and began working on the Plus 8 label with Richie Hawtin as Spawn.

Fred Neil is the second album from Fred Neil, a pioneer folk rock musician. The album has a more laid-back sound than his debut, and contains his best-known songs; "Everybody's Talkin' " and "The Dolphins". It was re-released in 1969 under the title Everybody's Talkin' in response to the international success of the soundtrack of the movie Midnight Cowboy, which made a hit of the new title track for Harry Nilsson

Deeply comforting funk melodies merge with off-kilter kicks before submerging in supremely delicate acid squelches.

Recorded in his hometown of Boston, Fred is very much a full-on solo effort, with Giannelli playing and recording everything himself, aside from the help of an engineer.
