Profile: Years active: 1960–present. A professional Southern Gospel quartet based in Pensacola, FL. The quartet got their start in 1960 by J. G. Whitfield, who founded The Dixie Echoes and The Florida Boys. Whitfield, only just a couple of years earlier, had yielded his bass singing role of the Florida Boys to spend more time at home. But as the country entered the first year of the 1960s, the desire to sing lured Whitfield to form another quartet that he named The Messengers. renamed the group to The Dixie Echoes Quartet

Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" is a song originally recorded by Scottish alternative band The Vaselines for their EP Dying for It. It is a parody on the Christian children's hymn, "I'll Be a Sunbeam," which has the opening line "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam. The song was little-known outside the indie-pop scene until Nirvana recorded the song in November 1993.
Echoes" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd, and the sixth and final track from their 1971 album Meddle. It was written in 1970 by all four members of the group. Containing several extended instrumental passages, largely ambient sound effects, and musical improvisation, the track has a running time of 23:31 and comprises the entire second side of the vinyl and cassette recordings.
Jesus Makes a Promise. By Dr. Carol J Miller. There once was a little girl who went to Sunday school, we can call her Jenny. She heard her teacher, Mrs. Johnson, say that God wants us to help people who are being hurt or made fun of. Now that made Jenny think about one of the kids in her regular school class. The girl had come in the middle of the year-her family had moved from far away. We can call her Abby. Abby came to school with her hair in a tangle. Sometimes she wore the same clothes three times in the same week. Her shoes were falling apart
Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine. And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries Starts to climb towards the light.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it’ (Matthew 16:24–25, New International Version). It seems like an incredible contradiction, but we will only find life when we quit pursuing it. When we stop chasing the things we believe will bring us life and instead, pursue the creator of life, we discover life as it was designed to be (John 10:10). Jesus came to reconcile God to mankind. The surprise there isn’t just that a bridge would be built between God and humanity; it’s that we would enter this relationship as friends. It’s as if God is saying, Following me will be a struggle, but here are the things I will promise those who persevere. Jesus says it this way: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
There's a place in Heaven Prepared for me When the toils of this life is over When the saints are clothed in white Before the throne Singing praises forever forever more. In my Father's house There are mansions bright If he said it Then I know it's true There's a place for me Beyond beyond the sky Brothers and sisters there's one for you. Jesus He promised me a home over there Jesus promised me a home over there No more sickness, sorrow, pain, care He promised me a home over there.
