I changed the album title from King Push to DAYTONA because I felt it didn’t represent the overall message of this body of work. DAYTONA represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. Why you putting constraints on things? Free your mind, think freely you know, all of that type of talk. So he was just like, you know, ‘I think you can really get it across in seven’ and ‘Yo, man, I’m feeling really strongly about the seven number, man, really think about it, I’m telling yo. I’m like, ‘Man, we’ve got joints, like, we got a whole bunch of joints, like, let’s give 'em what they need. He definitely told me, verbatim, ‘Yo, there’s something about that number seven, man.
