This gross, dated track from Uncut Dope also happened to be the public’s first taste of the Geto Boys’ newest member, Big Mike, who stepped in to replace Willie D briefly. While it does feature some strong lyrical performances, the Geto Boys’ only 21st-century album doesn’t feature production work quite up to par with their best stuff.

When Uncut Dope was released in 1992, the Geto Boys had four records behind them, and they were riding high on the success of We Can't Be Stopped. This was thanks in large part to the touching "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," a song clean enough to be played on mainstream radio that managed to be almost as psychologically grim as the horrifying "Mind of a Lunatic. This is a lean collection of a dozen tracks, most of which are pulled from The Geto Boys and We Can't Be Stopped, which makes perfect sense.
The opening track of Geto Boys’ third album pulled no punches. The song is about them being banned by Geffen Records after the controversy that their previous album Grip It! On That Other Level sparked. Released not long after Straight Outta Compton, Geto Boys’ second album Grip It! On That Other Level was every bit as controversial AND good as . s monumental classic, but never as widely celebrated.
