The Russian-American classical virtuoso pianist Vladimir Horowitz was a recording artist for over 60 years; beginning in 1926 on a piano roll system for Welte-Mignon, then with audio recordings, starting in 1928 for the Victor Talking Machine Company, later RCA Victor. Horowitz continued to record for a variety of record labels throughout his life. Between 1962 and 1973 he recorded for Columbia Masterworks In 1975, Horowitz returned to RCA, with which he recorded a series of live recitals

I think that Horowitz is able to perform, express and portray Scriabin's works much better than Chopin's works. Having said that, this CD has one of the best quality in terms of sound recording, than any of the other Horowitz recordings I've heard, I was really pleased with this. I really wished Horowitz could have performed and recorded all of Scriabin's Sonatas with sound recording this good. What else can I say about this album that hasn't already been said? Horowitz' interpretations are amazing like always. The CD packaging is very nice and the included descriptions are a pleasure to read. The Liszt quote inside the CD case truly describes what Horowitz is all about.
