The White Room is the fourth and final studio album by British electronic music group The KLF, released in March 1991. Originally scheduled for 1989 as the soundtrack to a film of the same name, the album's direction was changed after both the film and the original soundtrack LP were cancelled. Most tracks on the original album version are present in the final release, though in significantly remixed form.

The White Room is the result, an album bursting with hit singles that nevertheless flows as well as any concept album. Often overlooked as a classic from the acid house era (mostly because of the KLF's retirement one year later), The White Room represents the commercial and artistic peak of late-'80s acid-house.

This is the North American release of The KLF's The White Room album, released by Arista Records, which included the Stand By The JAMs single. Very unconventional duo. Despite being the best-selling band of 1991, they made a complete mockery of the music industry, including performing a grindcore cover of their song "3 . Eternal" with Extreme Noise Terror at the Febuary 1992 BRIT Awards - all while firing machine gun blanks at the audience, and burning a million quid with the leftover money after their "retirement," recording the entire.

Talk to me, talk to me If you want to know the things we see Then step inside our skins The White Room, the White Room. We spin, we turn, watch and wait As the world just creeps on by The White Room, the White Room. Talk to me, talk to me Far below, a small boat sails Catching fish from the sea The White Room, the White Room. The White Room, the White Room. More spetta na noo ne na noo things. The White Room, the White Room The White Room, the White Room. More spetta na noo ne na noo things) The.

Hopefully most of you got the in-joke that The KLF stuck in about sampling. Having been forced to destroy their previous record due to copyright infringement (rather ironic when KLF stands for Kopyright Liberation Front) they sampled heavily from the big players in the litigation stakes, only to get one over on those overpaid and talentless idiots (that particularly includes you Bono) by sampling crowd noise and anything that is completely unrelated to the actual music itself. I'm curious whether they cleared the samples and paid royalties or stuck it out to see if anyone had the balls to risk negative publicity and drag them into court (not to mention a class action suit from people who attended the gig and feel they should be entitled to a share of the royalties!).
Geny
A great record whose entertainment is beyond the wit and self-assurance of the average snobby late-teens "IDM" enthusiast who is afraid to admit he plays Pokemon to his friends. This record is not to be taken too seriously, not much KLF stuff outside of the early singles, 'Chill Out' and 'Its Grim Up North' is. It is however good music, with catchy loops, sterling production and even some hints of Acid buried under all that poppy varnish.
