The mysterious but widely acclaimed R-Zone series roll on to a 15th EP now with a new four track release that is as essential as ever. Opener 'Hired Gun' is a tough and raw concoction with coarse, snappy snares, rough drum pings and lots of abrasive texture all making for a physical listening experience. r-zone always always takes us on that trippppp!" Hunee (Hunch Music, Rush Hour, Los Angeles). Hired Guns is on fire here! Thanks" Discrete Circuit (AWAY, Berlin). R-Zone is always interesting!" Dario Zenker (Ilian Tape). Hired Guns is top" Szare (Horizontal Ground, Field Records, Project 13, High Peak).

Three years on from its debut, Creme Organization's R-Zone series continues to deliver bona fide dancefloor bombs. As usual, they've hidden the identity of the EP's creator (or creators), instead allowing the music to speak for itself. The punchy, bass-heavy "Hired Guns" sounds like something you'd get from Kowton or Lurka, while "Midwinter" layers deep, dreamy electronics on top of a gently jackin' drum machine groove.
The R-Zone was a portable game console (originally head-worn, later handheld) developed and manufactured by Tiger Electronics. The R-Zone was shown at the American International Toy Fair in February 1995, and was released later that year. The R-Zone was largely unsuccessful and would only be manufactured for a short period, before being discontinued in 1997

That album - released 15 years ago on Nov. 12 - marked the singer coming into her own, both as an artist (Spears took on more writing responsibilities than ever before) and as a woman (the LP's erotic content made "I'm a Slave 4 U" look relatively chaste). From the ice-blue album cover to its chilling production, In The Zone signaled a more mature direction for Spears as she explored electronic music and hip-hop like never before
