Tom Moulton has kept the feel of the songs in tact: the mixes are great. If you love the more soulful and less Disco orginals you have to ask yourself if you like Disco in the late seventies. If so; this box is a must have for others a great addition. Great release, and it's definitely not the same as the other separate 3 set of 2 x 12" with an additional 2 extra records. The tracklist is different, and you'll get way more tracks with this release. The other separate records sounds a bit better though, maybe it's only because it's a louder pressing?

Harmless arranged a different way for us to spend a weekend by collecting in 4 cd's, 31 remixes (15 old and 16 new) of PIR classics, that carry Tom Moulton's signature.
Moulton, whom Madonna surely must have met at some decadent Manhattan loft party circa 1979, is one of the most influential players in the history of dance music. The New Yorker was one of the first remixers, overhaul existing songs specifically for dancers, repeating the best bits, adding intros and interludes and stretching them to blissed-out lengths. In the output of the Phildelphia International label, Moulton found his ideal raw material. Presided over by the writer-producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, PIR defined Philly Soul in the Seventies with songs such as Love Train by the O’Jays.
