Bass" is an indisputable dance classic from the peak of Dance Mania's reign. Still heard regularly on dancefloors, the track exemplifies the Dance Mania aesthetic of raw minimal production, explicit lyrics, jacked-up tempo, and a premium funk factor. In 1967, Most, as music supervisor, also tabbed Jones to arrange the music for Herman's Hermits' theatrical film Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter, released in January 1968. Such was the extent of Jones' studio work – amounting to hundreds of sessions – that he said years later that "I can't remember three-quarters of the sessions I was o. It was during his time as a session player that Jones adopted the stage name John Paul Jones. Jones was Madeline Bell's first choice to produce and arrange her 1974 album Comin' Atcha. He has also played bass on the opening track for the Roy Harper album HQ, which also featured guitarist David Gilmour. The original version of Paul Johnson's anthem 'Get Get Down' was first released in October 1999 as a single from the album,The Groove I Have. The cut topped theBillboard Hot Dance/Club Playchart, peaking for 1 week. Outside the United States the song posed within the top ten of the charts in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Here at Moody Recordings we're proud to be the initial imprint that brought Paul's masterpiece to the world and this summer, almost 20 years later, we're just as honored to host several modern interpretations of his work.

With a feel for traditional Scottish and Irish roots music, their fifth album includes new songs by Paul McKenna exploring themes of memory and mortality, such as Holding On and Broken Houses. The traditional Irish Fanad Mare has a celebratory impetus, while The Molly May is a song of seafaring tragedy. Although more of a contemplative album exploring different aspects of life rather than an explicitly political one, final song Foreign Land explores themes of migration with its tale of a young Irish boy having to work abroad for meagre pay and returning a man to his native land.

My goodness, this is something else! Many people describe certain records as timeless, and I would say that this is pretty much a timeless album. I find it hard to believe that this was made back in 1996 because it sounds so relevant today. Modern DJ's take note, these tracks would be amazing on the dancefloor.

Amazing LP, although I don't own a copy of it myself, listening to tracks like "A little suntin' suntin'" and "Hear The Music" just make me think of the pumping nightclubs of the late 90s. Back when Daft Punk used one of the tracks in their Essential Mix in 1997.While it's an album you can ulitmately dance to, its equally good to just to chill late at night to.

Agreeing with Rubberduck1 - quality masterpiece, house music as it's meant to be! 'A Little Suntin Suntin' guarantees you a positive attitude, brings you emotions, gives you energy...same applies to the other tracks as well.Thank you Paul Johnson.

Ive just got this album via a friend and feel the need for a review is in order,i had never heard of Paul Johnson before and 1st i will start by saying, the people who are selling this should go turn their decks or turntable back on and give it another listen(unless they have two copies and feel the need to share which i fully agree with)cause otherwise they will regret the sale im very sure. Most of this album is nothing but pure class in everyway. Tracks to me that stand out the most are Summer Heat -I Wonder Why -The groove this track alone is worth buying the album for as are the rest. If you manage to get this album lock yourself in a room free from wives or girlfriends and turn up your headphones loud and listen to each track-you wont be dissapointed. If you are then go by bonkers vol 6 in tescos. much love .
