It was released on September 28, 1988, and was re-issued, remastered on August 22, 1995, and again on June 25, 2002. The album was certified gold in December 1988 and has since gone double platinum. It peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200. It was the first album to feature guitarist Zakk Wylde, keyboardist John Sinclair and the first to feature bassist Bob Daisley since Bark at the Moon.

Clocking in at just 18 minutes, Wicked Videos is an exceedingly brief video EP containing just three videos - the uncensored version of "Miracle Man," "Crazy Babies," and "Crazy Train. These are connected by "behind-the-scenes" "making-of" footage for the first two videos, which are often embarrassingly contrived. The videos themselves are quite entertaining, but they would have been better showcased on a longer video compilation. Still, hardcore fans will probably want to track this one down.
