Ursa Major is the fourth studio album by American rock band Third Eye Blind. Released on August 18, 2009 on the group's own Mega Collider label, Ursa Major was the group's first studio album in over six years. The first single from the album was "Don't Believe a Word", which debuted on the radio June 5, 2009. Work on Ursa Major began shortly after the release of Out of the Vein in 2003

Released August 18, 2009. Ursa Major Tracklist. 1. Can You Take Me Lyrics. 2. Don't Believe A Word Lyrics.

When Third Eye Blind released Out of the Vein in 2003, they felt like post-grunge relics that refused to acknowledge their time had passed. Six years later, with Ursa Major in tow, they've waited out the fallow time, surfacing just when late-'90s alt rock nostalgia is beginning to bubble. Tellingly, TEB shuck much of the heavy, oppressive sobriety of Out of the Vein, replacing it with a touch of the fizzy, singsong hooks that made their debut a smash success.

It is, however, Third Eye Blind. The songs may not catch on right away, but some time later, when you're sitting alone feeling gloomy, you might throw on Ursa Major and find songs working for you that haven't before. One song specifically being "Monotov's Private Opera", with its charming vocals and drafty atmosphere, it can do wonders for a lonely night. Who knows" With this being only the first half of a two-disc set (Ursa Minor coming later in the year), the sound of approximate completion may not have been in vain. It took me until 2008 to discover and get that album, only to realize I knew half the songs on it already from nearly 10 years before.

Third Eye Blind blasted out of San Francisco when "Semi-Charmed Life" went to 1 at Modern Rock and their self-titled album sold 5 million copies worldwide. This debut album contained several other chart-topping singles such as Jumper, How s It Going To Be, Graduate and others cementing the band's place in music history. The unique combination of brutal and controversial lyrics mixed with infectious melodies made an indelible connection with fans it s a phenomenon that defines Third Eye Blind and has made them the most requested band on college campuses. So here comes "Ursa Major", Third Eye Blind's fourth album, and first after six years. Now bassist Arion Salazar is gone too, apparently only playing on one track, "Bonfire". So the band is now three guys trying to re-capture old Third Eye Blind fans.

great ant
I meant to add this as another version/variant but it ended up as a separate album. I'm not sure how to fix that.

demifasulo I meant to add this as another version/variant but it ended up as a separate album. I'm not sure how to fix that. I have added your listing to the Master List for Ursa Major - you have to copy the release code in the top right of your submission and go to an albums' Master List and place the code in the releases box (minus [r ]) and submit.

Did you buy this on it's own or is this the one from the box set?because if it's the box set one I don't think that really counts as a separate pressing on the album release page, box sets are their own thing. I may be wrong? Or they released this separately?I personally like this better than the clear and never got a box so I would actually like that to be the case although I don't think so....
