Commercial Album is an album released by the Residents in 1980. It is commonly considered a follow-up of Duck Stab/Buster & Glen. The album pares down the concept and structure of the average commercial pop song and reduces it to a one-minute redux. It contains a compilation of 40 such sixty-second vignettes.

And this is The Residents' most commercial collection indeed for, in their typically strange manner, here are no less than 40 hits. Humourous as they are quite nightmarish. The group even encourages us to combine these into strange variations which might turn into 'verses' and 'refrains' of even stranger choice. the first Pressing had a 7" single as a bonus with 2 trax. both exactly 1 minute long. all 40 songs on the commercial album are exactly 1 minute long. After spending a couple of years creating the 1979 album, Eskimo, The Residents wanted a break from the long form abstract approach. They had written a lot of melody lines and thought it would be fun to use them all instead of selecting a few to develop. ideas in music was new.
