Eric Donaldson (born 11 June 1947 in St. Catherine, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter. Born in Bog Walk, about 2 miles from Kent Village, Donaldson first recorded for Studio One in 1964, although producer Clement Dodd declined to release the material. In the mid-1960s he formed The West Indians with Leslie Burke and Hector Brooks, and they had a hit with the .

Kent Village, Saint Catherine, Jamaica (1947 – present). Eric Donaldson (born June 11, 1947, St. Catherine, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae singer/songwriter. Donaldson had been composing and recording since 1964. He rocketed to popularity in 1971 with his winning entry in the annual Jamaican Festival Song Competition, "Cherry Oh Baby". He went on to win the festival again in in 1977, 1978, 1984 and 1993.
