The Horrible Crowes is a musical duo consisting of vocalist and guitarist Brian Fallon and guitarist Ian Perkins. Fallon is also the front man in The Gaslight Anthem, a band he formed in 2006. Their debut album and only full-length studio release to date, Elsie, was released on September 6, 2011, through SideOneDummy Records.

Exclusively for Prime members. Brian Fallon has exceeded my expectations with this gem. A more laid back version of The Gaslight Anthem. The overall mood of the album will suck you in and you WILL become a fan of The Horrible Crowes.

Elsie is the debut studio album by The Horrible Crowes, a Gaslight Anthem side-project made up of Ian Perkins and Gaslight Anthem founder Brian Fallon Contents.

This is the album where Fallon is no longer seen as the young musician admirably mirroring his idol, but a man capable of creating a mark of his own. The Springsteen comparison is a lazy one to make. While it was evident on albums from The Gaslight Anthem, it’s nearly impossible to detect it here.

Still, Elsie functions best as a display of Fallon’s underused bottom register and acoustic songwriting skills, proving that slowing things down once in a while can still be a punk rock move.

Elsie is nostalgic, contemplative, and persistent; it's also one of 2011's best. 90. Perfect for night drives on long, winding roads.
