The debut album from LA nu metal band Coal Chamber. It was certified Gold and remains Coal Chamber’s highest selling album. It also spawned the hit single Loco. Musically, the album is simple nu metal, clearly inspired by their contemporaries Korn. The guitars have the classic down-tuned nu metal sound and basslines are funk influenced. The vocals alternate between growling and panicked clean singing. The lyricism is abstract and often repetitive, as demonstrated by Loco and Sway.
