Pure Prairie League is an American country rock band whose origins go back to 1965 and Waverly, Ohio, with singer and guitarist Craig Fuller, drummer Tom McGrail, guitarist and drummer Jim Caughlan, and steel guitar artist John David Call. Fuller officially started the band in 1970, and McGrail named it after a fictional 19th century temperance union featured in the 1939 Errol Flynn cowboy film Dodge City
Pure Prairie League was inactive for most of this time, but got back together in 1998 with Fuller and began performing again. The way Fuller delivers the vocal on this song, it's hard not to hope Amie takes him back. But Amie might know better. The group name comes from the 1939 Errol Flynn movie called Dodge City, where a group of women form the "Pure Prairie League" to clean up the town. More songs from Pure Prairie League.
