Materia is the sixth studio album by Italian band Novembre. This album saw Novembre take on a sound consisting of an evident progressive rock influence, with mostly clean vocals and very few growled passages. The Promise" is a cover of a song by the band Arcadia. Croma" and "Nothijngrad" were originally written during the writing of Novembrine Waltz, but were unused until this album. These two tracks were a gift for the fans who awaited the release of this album.

Italian trio Novembre entered the scene of Atmospheric Metal during its infant stage, leaving the band with now more than a decade of participation in and influence on the genre. This year’s release, Materia, is their sixth in total (including the 2002 remake of their debut album), and their first with British label Peaceville Records. The Music Novembre has a dynamic and expressive sound, with roots in both Classical Music and Progressive Metal, as well as in Doom and Death Metal

I heard Novembre had a new album, decided that I never checked them out enough, and got this album, Materia. Since then, I have successfully fallen in love with this album and desperately want to find this band's other albums. I'm have very little luck. it's impossible to find their older stuff. What we have here is some bastard child of No-Man, Anathema and Katatonia. Death vocals are barely present. Vocal harmonies and "oohs"/"aahs" in the background are what fill up the vocals here.
