Inspecter 7 is an American ska band formed in 1992 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. With a sound that combines all three waves of ska (traditional, two-tone and third wave. After releasing a seven-inch single on Moon Ska Records, and appearing on several compilation albums, including all three volumes of the Oi: Skampilation series, the band signed to New York City record label Radical Records and began extensive East Coast touring. On their second album, Banished to Bogeyland, Inspecter 7 wallow in the seamier side of life, their subject matter concerning substance abuse, mass murderers and venereal disease, in addition to the standard breakup laments. Still, this being ska, the darkness is more cartoonish than haunting. The album also contains re-recordings of two songs that appeared on a 7" split with the Skoidats ("Asbury Park" and "Junior Guzzler").
