Weberman: A Phone Interview. Producer's note: Several people have asked "Why would you want to release an album like this?" The important thing to realize is that beyond the "star" syndrome that has been cast around Bob Dylan, is the fact that Dylan is one of the major poets of our historical time period. This is a record which will give a rare insight into the workings of Dylan the man, rather than Dylan the "star. This is a historical album.

Weberman claimed that the younger Dylan was a heroin addict. In 1977, Weberman's telephone conversations with Dylan from the early 1970s were released on the Folkways Records album Bob Dylan vs . Writing in 2014 about the phenomenon of "Bob Dylan obsessives", John Dickerson of Slate described Weberman as "The most famous of the Dylanologists". Lennon and Rubin were intent on enlisting Dylan for the tour and so issued an open letter on behalf of the RLF, demanding that Weberman publicly apologise to Dylan for the print and radio campaign he had waged against the singer and for describing him as a junkie. Published in The Village Voice, the letter also stated that all those in the.

Weberman expressed his unhappiness with Bob Dylan to him in a telephone conversation that he recorded and was able to have briefly distributed as an LP by Folkways Records. During this conversation Dylan told Weberman he was going to write a song about him entitled PIG and that Weberman had a pig mentality. He has also made unfounded connections between Bob Dylans' music and Holocaust Revisionism, going as far as claiming Dylan has a racist agenda. On top of this, Weberman firmly believes Dylan has been hiding an HIV/AIDS diagnosis for years, but has failed to provide any evidence other than fragmented and delusional connections to Dylans' lyrics and the fact Dylan had disseminated histoplasmosis a common infection in AIDS/HIV patients. In 2016 Weberman was the subject of an article in Salon entitled Ballad of a Bin Man: .

DARK SOON: the Dylan world in chronic perennial denial over Bob Dylan's sexually-contracted mortality. Dedicated to Jennifer Baer, Senior Outreach Sister of SHOC, Sexual Health on Call, Barnet. Some time following the release of 1996’s Time Out of Mind in, if my memory serves me well, 1997, notorious Dylanologist and garbologist A J Weberman put together a lyric analysis of the album at ww. ylanology. org as was that Dylan had encrypted references to his own HIV positivity in the lyrics following his histoplasmosis heart ‘scare’; I never got scared. The Dylan world studiously ignored A J’s analysis, surprisingly overall coherent, at least for him, given his bizarre syntax and penchant for indulging in non sequitur

His son, Herman WEBERMAN, was a veteran of the Spanish-American war. His son, Ezra WEBERMAN, was an attorney with offices at 51 Chambers Street in Manhattan. Rolling Stone Magazine published a Press release from the Dylan Archives that stated there were hidden pictures superimposed on the cover of Bob Dylan's John Wesley Harding record album. I noticed that when I played certain unintelligible lines from Bob Dylan's record album backwards, they made sense. Rolling Stone also published this.

They spoke not once but twice, and Weberman taped the conversations, which achieved notoriety when they circulated privately among collectors. Now, for the first time, the world gets the chance to hear them on CD. Never can a major star have had quite such a bizarre and candid encounter with a deranged fan. Unaware that he’s being bugged, Dylan bullies, mocks and cajoles his persecutor in an attempt to make him desist

Apparently, Bob Dylan read Weberman’s work in the East Village Other, because he remarked on it during an interview. Finally, Weberman ran into Dylan himself during one of his stalking sessions. Dylan must have had the patience of a saint because he walked and talked with his eccentric stalker for nearly two hours before finally confronting him. You know, Dylan said, a lot of people have been asking me about your theories. They’re going around saying you’re telling people I’m a junkie.
