In 1977 I really started listening to music and it was the sound of bands like KC and the Sunshine band that really made me appreciate the lack of bullshit that bands like the Ramones, the Clash, and the Velvet Underground brought to music. So if I could thank KC for anything i would thank him for his music being such overplayed commercial shit that it drove me underground to the better music that never got played on the radio in the late 1970s.
