SEPTIC TANK, the long-running project featuring vocalist Lee Dorrian (CATHEDRAL), guitarist Gary Jennings (CATHEDRAL) and bassist Scott Carlson (REPULSION), will release its debut album, "Rotting Civilisation", on April 13 via Rise Above Records.

Septic Tank are a British punk rock band formed out of Coventry doom metal band Cathedral. The band was originally formed in 1994, while the then-Cathedral were on tour, and later reformed in 2013 after Cathedral's breakup. Once the band reunited, producer and former member of the UK band Trouble, Jaime "Gomez" Arellano, replaced drummer Barry Stern, due to his death in 2005. The band have currently released one self-titled EP and one full-length album, entitled "Rotting Civilisation".

Rotting Civilisation. Personally, I'm totally sold on this album, this is without a doubt one of the best releases in 2018. Starting with the artwork, let me be damned for all eternity if that cover is not a nod to "The Day the Country Died" by The Subhumans. Leafing through the booklet I encounter a drawing of an English copper, complete with a swastika on his helmet, slicing a punk's throat.

Rotting Civilisation is a love letter to the high energy thrashy hardcore of Discharge and Extreme Noise Terror, whose motto may as well be barge in, fuck shit up and storm out cursing. The guitars are harsh, stark and crackling, leading to speculation whether the recording equipment received the baseball bat special.
