Chapters is a double album compilation by Swedish progressive rock band Anekdoten, released in May 2009. The first disc contains the band's favourite tracks from their 3 latest albums, From Within, Gravity and A Time of Day. It also features the newly recorded track "When I Turn", a track originally written for the From Within album

Anekdoten's Vemod is probably the most impressive (and heaviest) debut album from the last two decades along with Anglagard's Hybris, and they have little chance at being dethroned, Paatos' Timeloss included. This quartet seems to have come out of Sweden's Boreal Forest or even more north the Polar Tundra, with their incredibly somber but beautiful melancholy that one our Scandinavian brothers can express so forcefully.

ENGLISH: Alongside Änglagård, Anekdoten was one of those Swedish progressive groups which played a very important role on the movement of rebirth of this genre back on the early 90s. It's a band that is still and fortunatly active and that released their debut album - this one in question - almost 20 years ago. The cover may even give you the impression of a metal band album, but their sound is a heavier than the usual progressive also with influence from the 70s greatest bands of this genre.
