A classic from the darkside era. Produced by Alex Reece – later famous for his Metalheadz classic Pulp Fiction – and Jack Smooth, a one man production factory who has worked on upwards of a thousand hardcore and drum'n'bass cuts, this EP is something of a rave holy grail. No one knows the proper track titles – the 12 was printed with the wrong labels – and it’s never been officially reissued, with copies selling online for £100 upwards. Blame re-released the tune with the Seal vocal removed and it went on to become a huge hit, but the original still keeps a special place in the hearts of rave OGs. 7. Jimmy J & Cru-L-T – Six Days (1994). 6 Days may be the last tune to unite the jungle and hardcore scenes. Released in 1994, it had a huge piano led breakdown that was cheesy enough for the happy hardcore massive, alongside hammering breakbeats hard enough to keep the junglists raving.

Jungle producers incorporate classic Jamaican/Caribbean sound-system culture production methods. The slow, deep basslines and simple melodies are reminiscent of those found in dub, reggae and dancehall Contents. Origin of the name "jungle". Sociocultural context. Bulgaria has been prominent in an old school jungle revival. The group Rudimental, who have reached on the UK Singles Charts on two occasions, use elements of jungle and breakbeat in their music. Excellent 12" this one....However, Be careful of "The Fire" track....It speed's up after about 39 seconds of playing it making it nearly impossible to mix properly.

i bloody hope not Tenners! its why i brought the record. Its that or fork out £60 for the original. Cheers for the heads up though. I have another ep by these. Im going to check the tempos out in the studio. I guess shifting tempo after such a short time, you would never probably never guess. Just assume it was just not pitched quite right. An odd thing to do if you are indeed correct. Lets hope you are not haha :)

First up is "The Buzz", a 133bpm secret weapon that mixes great with House or Breaks as well as old-school Techno. Lo-fi subbass and Todd Terry influenced snares combine with subtle unfiltered synths with a Laurent X / House Nation Records flavor making for a deep and rockin' tune. The A2 and AA1 tracks are also classic tracks sampling Stevie Nicks and Phil Collins, respectively. The AA1 track I would say is on the same level as the A1 track as far as having an old-school yet timeless sound, and making great use of a wide range of samples without overdoing it. Rounding out the AA side is a lovely hardcore tune, appropriately named "Raggamuffin Mayhem", yet another old-school classic with clever samples, funky basslines, and cheesy rave stabs and melodies.
