Freedom of the City 2002 presented a small number of groupings, including two solo performances. Some of them enjoyed over half-an-hour of disc space and most were represented by several tracks.
Freedom of the City 2003: Small Groups.
The Freedom of the City is an honour bestowed by a municipality upon a valued member of the community, or upon a visiting celebrity or dignitary. Arising from the medieval practice of granting respected citizens freedom from serfdom, the tradition still lives on in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand – although today the title of "freeman" confers no special privileges
Freedom of the City is a festival organised in London over the last few years. One of its main goals is to present combinations of players in contexts in which they have not played before. Though I have nothing against the smaller duo groupings, its the larger smaller groupings that really are the cream of the crop here. The trio of harpist Rhodri Davies, cellist Mark Wastell and bassist Simon H. Fell create an interesting tension
Recording dates: Tracks 2 - 6 on 4 May 2003 at the Freedom of the City festival in the Conway Hall, London, Tracks 1 & 7 on 3 May 2004 at the Freedom of the City festival.
There has to be a vote in favour of at least 2/3rd of those attending the meeting at which the conferment is to be made for Freedom of the City to be granted. The following is a full list of people and organisations that have been awarded Freedom of the City of Oxford since 1900.
I noticed a lot of groups have postings regarding submission calls.
If you’d ask me to name a top five d20 list then Mutants & Masterminds would be included in it before I had to think. The GM Screen was pretty good too, but we’ll not count that as the first support for the game, Freedom City has the honour and the challenge of being the first book to try and carry on the tradition of excellence. Centurion, the unabashed Superman clone and key Freedom City hero, is from a dimension destroyed by one of the setting’s super villains. There are aliens too. Aliens are responsible for tinkering with human gene way back in pre-history and giving mankind a fighting chance against the dominant race of the time – super intelligent lizard folk.
