I just get this DVD pack. (Sorry about my english). I play them (for test) on five DVD players and on all of them the sound is unsynchronous with picture! First came voice sound and after 300-700ms only Dave (or other lead singer) starts moving lips, mouth, or sing. It is not normal. I work in my country in national television, and I understand about what i'm talking. Those DVD's is in very bad quality. The middle sound level is -7dB!!! It is crazy! The max level should be up to-3dB. So, for me those DVD's are complete shit. It looks like they made and mastered them in 2-3 days. Cheap, fast and get more cash for themselves. Shame.

Today I received the ordered set and put the first disc to the test. I was afraid of the videos quality when it come to the one originally recorded as 4×3 format. Inasmuch as the previously released DVD by Depeche Mode did not comprise the video 'It's Called A Heart' in particular I was expecting to receive this one in full DVD definition. Regrettably my concern was not groundless. Unfortunately the quality is deliberately deteriorated. The editor or editors apparently thought that every customer can be fooled. In fact instead of the full 720×576 resolution DVD quality (if we think of 4:3 aspect ratio) we received the blatant 720×478 picture!. There is even worse though. The number 720 includes two vertical black bars. Therefore, the effective quality is of 600×480 pixels. Shame! To make things worse, it is hard to believe for me that the pertinent promotional videos will be ever seen in the future (in some another release) in their original full 720×576 resolution. The same negligence one could perceive on 'Sophisticated Boom Box MMXVI Box set', Deluxe Edition by Dead Or Alive. Luckily for customers we were offered to replace the bad quality discs free of charge with the good ones. I do not believe that Sony Music will do the same. I am very disappointed! Lost forever, I'm afraid!

moni2 Halo, Clean and Pimpf.weren't singles so why would they put them on a video singles collection ? Probably because those songs had a video? Video for Pimpf was released on the "Strange" VHS in 1998 and videos for Halo and Clean were released on the "Strange Too" VHS in 1990.
Stoneshaper
That is a very bad news! In my opinion applying for Blu-ray version is useless in this case. After all the pertinent footage has not been recorded at so high resolution. Therefore, Blu-ray format is reasonable for new records made with the relevant cameras only. The picture impression you may have does not change the fact that the original videos quality has been blatantly spoiled.
jorik
As Sony music has acquired the rights to Depeche Mode's videos, I doubt very much Mute will release any more videos. May I suggest you write instead to Sony Music and ask them to release a Blu-ray collection? Although, probably, finding and encoding the original videos in higher resolution is more work than Sony is prepared to put in. I do feel, though, that the videos on this collection look pretty good, sharp and with deep blacks.
Weiehan
I wrote to Mute ([email protected]) suggesting them to consider to release 'The Best Of Videos ( Volume 2)'. necessary in PAL. Perhaps if there would be more such request Mute would accede to such solution?
Burking
Damn, I was going to buy this, but then saw it was NTSC, which looks so dull compared to PAL. Unfortunately, it seems most DVD's like this these days are produced only in NTSC, so people in North America can play it; the rest of us have to suffer.
DrayLOVE
You must have some strange setting in your video playing software, because the 4:3 videos do in fact NOT have black bars on the sides. However, there are several 16:9 videos that are presented as 4:3 letterbox which is a great shame, that is with black bars on top and bottom. You better change that review as it's very misleading.

Mori
I agree with you about bad quality this video. Live in Berlin was in bad quality too. DVD format is outdated. In video singles collection missed Halo, Clean and Pimpf. They will be added to bonus tracks.
