Beaubourg is a studio album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in July 1978. It was the fourth album produced by Vangelis in Nemo Studios, London, and his final album for RCA Records. It is a concept album inspired by the architecture of the homonymous complex area, specifically Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He visited the area in 1977, and recalls "I was very impressed.

Beaubourg is a studio album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1978. I returned to London and I recorded my album Beaubourg quickly, spontaneously. So I 'felt' Beaubourg, but that does not mean that Beaubourg is only this: I can redo Beaubourg in 30 different ways".

About Vangelis' Beaubourg album. Mark as New. Bookmark. I've been listening this album by Vangelis for several years, from time to time, and I'm still realising there are some errors in the recorded sound that haven't been fixed until now for ages: changes of speed during the last six minutes of Part 1, quite noticeable near the end, and in several parts of Part 2, as if someone. lowed or highed pitch sound in all the recording, before submitting this album to this site. Is there a way somebody from this site staff, with permission of author, label, could upload another version, without sound mistakes, instead of catalogued one? Thanks.

Beaubourg" is an album that is often misunderstood by avid Vangelis listeners. The album is either hailed as a masterpiece in one corner while in another corner, there's a barrage of booing and hissing. In all fairness, an album like "Beaubourg" had to be done. It's quite a unique album and is one of the few nonmelodic works in Vangelis's large catalog of music. Essentially, "Beaubourg" is a single 38-minute work divided into two parts. If you listen to the album, you'll discover that the piece is divided into even shorter sub-movements
