Doc Watson is the self-titled debut album by Doc Watson, released by Vanguard Records in 1964. It was re-issued on CD by Ace Records in 1995 and numerous tracks have been used in compilations such as Vanguard Years and The Best of Doc Watson 1964-1968.

While many folk-country artists have long since severed their connections with the blues, guitarist Doc Watson has never forgotten his. Watson's commitment to the blues deepened as his son, the late Merle Watson, picked up the guitar and joined him on-stage and in the studio. Sittin' Here Pickin' the Blues reaches back to several Doc and Merle Watson albums recorded for Rounder in the early- to mid-'80s, including the classic Pickin' the Blues

DOC & MERLE WATSON'S GUITAR ALBUM (1983): "Talking to Casey," "Goin' to Chicago Blues" and "John Henry/Worried Blues. T. Michael Coleman plays bass on all tracks and Mark O'Connor plays fiddle. THE TELLURIDE FESTIVAL TAPES (1984): "Deep River Blues". PICKIN' THE BLUES (1985): All twelve tracks from the original vinyl release are included. Michael Coleman plays bass on all tracks and Sam Bush plays mandolin or fiddle on many (except for "St. Louis Blues" which Doc plays solo)
