John Anthony Genzale (July 15, 1952 – April 23, 1991), better known by his stage name Johnny Thunders, was an American rock and roll/punk rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He came to prominence in the early 1970s as a member of the New York Dolls. He later played with The Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders was born John Anthony Genzale in Queens, New York, where he first lived in East Elmhurst and then Jackson Heights.

This 1984 remix of the album (under the supervision of Johnny Thunders) places . favorably alongside other New York punk bands from the late '70s. Borrowing inspiration from his old band, the New York Dolls, along with Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, the Ramones, and heroin, Thunders & the Heartbreakers' junkie antics translate well to disc. Songs like "One Track Mind," "Chinese Rocks," and "Pirate Love" are great examples of these influences. Although the Heartbreakers were not as lyrically intuitive as ex-member Richard Hell or Television, the.
Eventually Thunders did release his 2nd proper studio album on jungle records called Que Sera Sera which he also covers the Doris Day song as a single with Gen Matlock on bass again. His last studio album has to be the best cover album of all time 'Copy Cats by Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin. Sadly after writing new songs and touring extensively Thunders died in 1991 before he got a chance to record them in New Orleans with fellow band mate Jerry Nolan on drums again. There are studio versions of the songs on the cd Sticks and Stones but they were just a soundboard rough recording.
