Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims is an album by German jazz pianist Jutta Hipp recorded in 1956 which was released on the Blue Note label as BLP 1530.

Jutta Hipp, a talented German pianist, came to the United States in the mid-'50s and quickly gained some attention. However, she was soon criticized for sounding too close to Horace Silver and, after recording this final Blue Note album, she gradually dropped out of music. Reissued in 1996 on CD with two extra selections, Hipp's boppish music on the set is very enjoyable and swinging. Oddly enough, she does not sound at all like Silver on the date, making one wonder why she soon left the jazz world

This album offers evidence that Jutta Hipp was a major talent, a modern improviser with a distinctive musical vocabulary not at all reliant on bebop cliches. She also comes off as remarkably consistent, playing, memorable solos on all eight tracks, even the two not included on the original release. Famous for never taking a false solo, Sims has lots of space here to showcase his fluid, intensely personal idiom. He doesn't really build his ideas from one chorus to the next, but each chorus has an undeniable symmetry and substance of its own, and you can pretty well hum every one of them.
