Forbidden Evil is the debut album from American thrash metal band from San Francisco, California, Forbidden. The album was released in 1988. The title of this album refers to their original name before shortening it to Forbidden in 1987. The album was well received by both critics and fans and eventually became a cult classic.

Then, Forbidden Evil is placed OK, but on the B side of the vinyl the tracks are for some silly reason mixed again - Chalice of Blood was actually played after Through Eyes of Glass and not before as recorded here. Secondly, the songs weren't executed as good as they should've been (check out some bootlegs from that era!), which was also admitted by Craig Locicero in the 1999 CD reissue. As the title states, this is indeed RAW, but also played with lots of mistakes and lack of energy, and Russ far from his top form to boot

Their only live recording, the Raw Evil - Live at the Dynamo EP, was also released in 1989. Forbidden's second studio album, Twisted Into Form, was released in 1990, and saw them showcase a more melodic and progressive affair with many acoustic interludes and clearer production, but less of a raw edge than its predecessor. In support of this album, they opened for Death Angel on their Act III tour in Europe and North America, and also played with bands like Exodus, Vicious Rumors, Sanctuary, Sacred Reich, Obituary, Morbid Angel, Realm, Defiance and Forced Entry.
