His first wife is Irish chant singer Nóirín Ní Riain, with whom he collaborated in the 1980s on a series of recordings with the Benedictine Monks of Glenstal Abbey. Noirin's voice is etheral, and other-wordly, yet grounded right here in God's green earth. If you are unfamiliar with her work, it is WELL worth the purchase. I have all of her CD's. I enjoy them all. This one is up there with the top 2 or 3. This CD is a collaboration by noirin and her two sons, Michael & Eoin. This is not your standard fare Christmas album. It could easily be listened to year-round. The few songs on this cd that are traditional Christmas songe, (Ave Maria & The Holly and the Ivy,) are performed in a different way than ususal.
