Hand Over Your Loved Ones. The album was re-released on 14 February 2005 under the name Suck Fony, on the band's own record label Montauk Mantis Productions, after they decided to leave Sony BMG. The re-released version includes two new tracks, including the original composition "William McGovern", and the Pat Benatar cover "Hit Me with Your Best Shot".

Two lost mixes from the "Hand Over Your Loved Ones" sessions, made in the summer of 2002.

Wheatus’ self-titled debut album was released on August 15, 2000 and proved to be the band’s commercially successful album, featuring the unforgettable Teenage Dirtbag The single reached No. 2 in the UK’s Singles Chart and has since been the soundtrack in the movie Loser and the TV series Generation Kill. The single’s follow-up, a cover of Erasure’s A Little Respect, also performed well in the charts, peaking at No. 3 in the UK’s Singles chart. The refusal led to a change in album titled from Hand Over Your Loved Ones to the rather aptly named Suck Fony, the album was eventually released on their own label Montauk Mantis in February 2005. A consistent series of personnel changes left Brendad Brown as the only remaining member of the original line-up.

But now Wheatus are back with a new album and a tour of Ireland and the UK (their first since 2005) which kicks off in Dublin on Tuesday, 10th September. Goldenplec spoke to frontman Brendan B. Brown to find out what Wheatus have been up to post Dirtbag, and where they are going next. One of the things Brown is particularly keen to discuss is the band’s new record, ‘The Valentine LP’. It’s a collection of post-apocalyptic love songs, he explains. The second record we made was a really glossy pop record that had a lot or radio friendly singles on it. After we had done that I felt like there wasn’t really a point to doing that again, he says. Was this change in direction motivated by the desire to prove that Wheatus are more than just that song? Brown seems very pragmatic about the bands place in pop culture. That’s what you do as a musician; you try to get known for something.
