Real Life - The Mad Acts EP album flac

Real Life is the debut studio album by English rock band Magazine. It was released in June 1978 by record label Virgin. The album includes the band's debut single "Shot by Both Sides", and was also preceded by the non-album single "Touch and Go", a song from the album's recording sessions. Real Life has received critical acclaim and is considered a pioneering post-punk record. It has also been described as new wave and art rock.

Real Life are a Melbourne-based Australian new wave/synthpop band that achieved international chart success with their 1983 singles "Send Me an Angel" and "Catch Me I'm Falling". Both singles appeared on the band's debut album, Heartland, released in 1983. The band originally consisted of David Sterry (lead vocals and guitar), Richard Zatorski (violin and keyboard), Alan Johnson (bass) and Danny Simcic (drums).

That is the driving force behind Real Life's status as one of the post-punk era's major jump-off points. Punk's untethered energy is rigidly controlled, run through arrangements that are tightly wound, herky-jerky, unpredictable, proficiently dynamic.

These ads provide revealing snapshots of the social mores that prevailed in a period when women were more often portrayed as sex objects; cigarettes were promoted by babies as stress relief for "Mom"; and American sun-seekers took to the skies in increasing numbers.
