Jean-Jacques Goldman (French pronunciation: ; born 11 October 1951) is a French singer-songwriter and music producer. He is hugely popular in the French-speaking world. Since the death of Johnny Hallyday in 2017 he has been the highest grossing living French pop rock act. Born in Paris and active in the music scene since 1975, he had a highly successful solo career in the 1980s, and was part of the trio Fredericks Goldman Jones, releasing another string of hits in the 1990s. He recorded a double album in 1987, Entre gris clair et gris foncé ("Between light grey and dark grey"), which launched a string of hits – "Elle a fait un bébé toute seule", "Puisque tu pars", "Là-bas" (a duet with Sirima), "Il changeait la vie" – and was a major success, with more than 2 million units sold.

Entre Gris Clair Et Gris Foncé. This song is by Jean-Jacques Goldman and appears on the album Entre Gris Clair Et Gris Foncé (1987).

He followed it with Entre Gris Clair et Gris Foncé in 1987, which sold even better. Part of this has to do with the ubiquitous presence of Goldman on French radio and MTV, but the rest is the sound on the recording, which balances rock dynamics with very stylized '80s production: glossy keyboards, heavily treated guitars, drum machines and programs, etc. And then there are the hooks, as evidenced in the first single "La Ba. Track Listing.

Jean-Jacques Goldman chronology. En public (1986)En public1986. Entre gris clair et gris foncé (1987). Singles from Non homologué. The other eleven songs were written years before. Goldman always wrote one or two songs for each album that either didn't fit the mood of the record or that were too personal. When he started becoming popular, he thought it would be a good opportunity to release some previously unheard songs. While preparing this album, the new songs were tracked in the studio. The old songs were either recorded live or were recorded using only acoustic instruments.
